Privacy
What we collect
- The video, audio, or image file you upload
- Your name, email, optional phone, city, and (for Parents/Teachers/Students) your school district
- Type-specific facts about you (e.g., grade band you teach)
- The consent boxes you ticked, plus a timestamp and your IP address
- Browser user-agent string, for fraud detection
Where it lives
- Files: Vercel Blob (US-based CDN). Public URLs that are unguessable but not behind a login.
- Metadata: A dedicated Supabase Postgres database, US region. Service-role access only. Not exposed to the browser.
- Confirmation email: Resend (US-based transactional-email vendor).
Who we share it with
- Ad platforms (Meta, TikTok, YouTube, Google) receive your video file and our targeting parameters. They do not receive your name, email, or phone.
- Coalition partners may receive approved videos for limited reuse, only with your express consent (pending sign-off — see plan §11 D2).
- No one else. We do not sell, rent, or trade your data.
Your rights
Under Colorado's CPA, California's CCPA, Virginia's CDPA, and similar laws:
- You can request to see what we have on you
- You can request that we delete it
- You can revoke your consent for any specific use
Email submissions@unplugplugin.org for any of these. We respond within 45 days.
Retention
We retain submission records for up to 24 months after the campaign ends, for audit and accountability. Revoked submissions are flagged and removed from active rotation but retained in our internal database with a "revoked" status.
Children's privacy
The portal does not accept submissions from anyone under 13. Submitters 13–17 require parent or guardian co-consent.
