Release terms
Plain English, in three sentences:
1. You're giving UP permission to use the video you submit, but only in the ways you ticked on the form.
2. You can pull your video back any time by emailing submissions@unplugplugin.org or clicking the link in your confirmation email — we'll remove it from active rotation within 7 days.
3. We won't sell your information, train AI on your video, or put words in your mouth.
1. Who you're granting this to
By submitting, you grant FHC ("we" / "us") a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use the video, audio, image, and any related materials you submit, for the limited purposes you have explicitly consented to on the submission form.
2. Scope of permitted use
We will use your submission only for purposes you have ticked, which may include any of:
- Paid social and online ads (Meta, TikTok, YouTube, Google) targeted at audiences in Colorado
- The campaign website (unplugplugin.org and its subdomains) and partner websites
- Op-eds and press materials
- Emails and SMS messages to coalition supporters
- Edits, captions, crops, and shortened cuts of your submission
- Localization to your school district (e.g., labelled "Cherry Creek Parent")
Attribution will follow the choice you indicated: full name and city, first name and city, or anonymous "City Parent" style.
3. What we will not do
- Sell, rent, or trade your information
- Train AI models on your video, audio, or image
- Splice or manipulate your video to create statements you did not make
- Pass your submission to political party committees or PACs
- Share teacher submissions with school district administration without your consent
- Use your submission for purposes outside the UP campaign without coming back for fresh consent
4. Right to revoke
You may revoke your consent at any time by emailing submissions@unplugplugin.org or clicking the revoke link in your confirmation email. Upon revocation:
- We will remove your submission from active rotation within 7 days
- Materials already printed (yard signs, mailers, etc.) may persist
- Ad placements already paid for may continue to run for the remainder of their flight, up to 14 days, unless platform mechanics allow earlier removal
- We will retain a record of your submission and your revocation for audit purposes
5. Minors
Submitters age 13–17 may participate only with the co-consent of a parent or legal guardian, captured on the form. Submitters under 13 may not submit.
6. Likeness and other people in your submission
You confirm that you are the person in the submission, or that everyone identifiable in it has consented to its use, or is a minor in your guardianship.
7. Right of publicity
You waive any claim of right of publicity in Colorado and in any other state where the submission may be distributed, for the consented uses listed in Section 2.
